What is White Lighthouse Sober Living?
White Lighthouse Sober Living provides a structured and supportive environment for men in early recovery. We offer safe, community-focused homes across Cartersville and Calhoun, designed to help residents build a strong foundation for lasting sobriety and independent living.
How many homes do you have and where are they located?
We currently operate four sober living homes: three in Cartersville, Georgia, and one in Calhoun, Georgia.
What makes White Lighthouse different from other sober living homes?
Our program is distinguished by its highly structured environment, strong emphasis on accountability, and a dedicated staff comprised entirely of certified Peer Support Specialists. We provide comprehensive support focused on employment, life skills, and personal growth, guiding residents towards sustainable independence.
Admission & Fees
What is the weekly program fee?
The weekly program fee for White Lighthouse Sober Living is $200, due by noon every Friday. This fee covers housing, utilities (power, water, trash, Wi-Fi), and access to our comprehensive program services.
Are there options for bi-weekly payments?
Yes, bi-weekly payment arrangements can be made with prior approval from White Lighthouse staff.
What is required for admission?
A commitment to sobriety, willingness to adhere to program rules, and completion of our intake process.
Program Rules & Daily Life
What are the expectations around employment?
Residents are required to find full-time employment within their first four weeks in the program. We provide guidance and resources to support this process.
Do residents undergo drug testing?
Yes, residents must agree to random drug testing. We have a zero-tolerance policy for failed drug tests or possession/use of any prohibited substances, including alcohol, illicit drugs, and certain unapproved substances like CBD or Kratom.
Are there curfews?
Yes, curfews are 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday. Exceptions for work must be communicated and approved by staff. Residents are required to come home daily.
Can I have visitors?
All visitors must be approved by staff and remain in common areas. No female visitors are allowed in the house without prior consent and staff escort. There are no overnight guests permitted.
Are passes or overnight stays allowed?
No overnight passes are allowed during the first 30 days. After 30 days, one overnight pass per week may be approved if rent is current. After 60 days, a 48-hour pass may be approved if rent is current.
Are residents allowed to have vehicles?
Yes, residents may have a vehicle if proper documentation (driver’s license, registration, insurance) is provided and the vehicle is in running condition.
What is provided in the homes?
Our homes are fully furnished, including beds, couches, tables, TVs, kitchenware, and laundry facilities. Utilities (power, water, trash, Wi-Fi) are also included.
What are the expectations for housekeeping?
Residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and common areas neat and clean at all times. This includes daily cleaning, dishwashing immediately after use, and adhering to assigned chore lists.
Support & Recovery
What kind of support do residents receive?
Residents receive comprehensive support, including weekly peer check-ins with staff, monthly case manager meetings to set and review personal goals (mental health, physical health, financial stability, employment), and mandatory monthly house meetings for community building.
How does White Lighthouse support long-term recovery?
We foster long-term recovery by emphasizing accountability, promoting full-time employment, teaching essential life skills, providing a strong peer-supported community, and offering personalized goal setting through case management.
What happens if a resident breaks a rule?
Continuous disregard for program requirements or non-compliance with rules may result in immediate discharge from the program. Any illegal act will result in immediate discharge and may lead to prosecution.
